A worker from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in the USA was fired.

This occurred after it was revealed that he refused to provide aid in areas affected by Hurricane Milton.

This was due to the presence of signs supporting the former president and recent election winner, Donald Trump.

The controversy sparked by this decision has highlighted the importance of impartiality in public service, especially in times of crisis and emergencies.

The director of FEMA, Deanne Criswell, strongly condemned the employee’s attitude, as reported by ‘EFE’.

Asserting that the observed conduct represents a clear violation of the agency’s values.

These values include the commitment to help all affected individuals regardless of their political preferences.

«It is reprehensible and does not reflect the fundamental principles of FEMA at all,» Criswell stated in a declaration to ‘NBC News’.

The agency, with 22,000 employees, ensures a neutral and committed service for all citizens without distinction.

The employee, whose identity was not revealed, reportedly suggested to his team not to assist in homes displaying Trump support signs.

This controversial action led FEMA to reaffirm its commitment to high standards of conduct in its personnel.

«This type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA, and we will hold accountable those who violate these standards of conduct,» added Criswell.

The incident arises amidst a politically polarized context in the USA, after Trump’s presidential election win.

Trump’s victory has revitalized the support of his followers, who feel that the former president’s management represents their interests.

However, this same polarization seems to have infiltrated some aspects of public service, such as the case with the FEMA employee.

This case has ignited a debate in public opinion about the ethics and neutrality that should govern emergency services, pointed out ‘EFE’.
