Registration deadlines: Mail-in registrations must be submitted no later than 20 days before Election Day. Online voter registrations must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on the 20th day before Election Day. In-person registrations can be completed at the municipal clerk’s office until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday before Election Day.

How can I vote?

By Mail: Any registered voter in Wisconsin can vote by mail. You can request a mail ballot either online or by using a printable form. With the exception of military and overseas voters, those voting by mail in Wisconsin must have a witness present when casting their ballot. The witness must be a U.S. citizen aged 18 or older. If you encounter difficulty finding a witness, please reach out to your municipal clerk’s office for assistance.

Deadline for Mail-in Ballot Applications: Requests for absentee ballots must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the Thursday before Election Day.

Deadline for Completed Mail-in Ballots: Completed mail-in ballots must be returned and received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. You can return your completed ballot in-person at your municipal clerk’s office or at a central count location. Please verify the locations with your municipal clerk’s office.

Early In-person Voting: Early voting is available at your municipal clerk’s office starting from the 14th day before Election Day until the Sunday before Election Day. Contact your clerk for specific dates and hours.

Election Day: Polling sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line by the closing time, you are entitled to vote.
