Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez wreaked havoc across the United States, sowing terror, death, and pain.
His latest victim was Rachel Morin, a mother of five children, whom he allegedly strangled while she was exercising on a trail in Maryland, authorities said.
The Hispanic’s criminal history, according to Tulsa police, began in his native El Salvador, where he allegedly fled after murdering a woman in January 2023.
Once in America, he continued his spree of crimes.
The Atrocities of Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez
«He did not come here to make a better life for himself or his family. He came here to escape the crime he committed in El Salvador. He came here and killed Rachel,» said Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler.
The DNA of the 23-year-old Salvadoran is linked to a violent assault on a 9-year-old girl and her mother during a home invasion in March 2023 in Los Angeles, he detailed.
Investigators presume that after the crime, Martinez Hernandez fled from California to Harford County, Maryland.
In a cruel twist of fate, Rachel and the immigrant allegedly encountered each other on August 5, 2023, and she did not live to tell the tale.
That night Rachel Morin did not return home to her boyfriend and her five children.
Everyone feared the worst and reported it. By dawn, security forces found her body. She had been raped and brutally murdered.

Although a national alert was issued to search for Rachel’s killer, agents took nine months to obtain a conclusive lead on the suspect, his DNA.
It took 30 more days to locate his hideout.
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents found him outside a bar in Tulsa.
At first, he denied his identity, but seeing no way out, he gave his name.
The Salvadoran remains in a Tulsa County, Oklahoma jail without bail.
He faces charges of first-degree murder and first-degree rape for the death of Rachel Morin.
Authorities reported that he is also in custody of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Víctor Antonio Martínez Hernández awaits extradition to Harford County.
«Hopefully, he will never have the opportunity to walk free again,» said Sheriff Gahler.
«I want him to die in a Maryland penitentiary system,» he added.
