Four violent gang members from the Tren de Aragua were arrested in Aurora, Colorado, in connection with several serious violent crimes.
Jhonnarty Dejesús Pacheco Chrinos, 24, was captured for an attempted murder that took place on Sunday, July 28, 2024.
His brother, Jhonardy José Pacheco Chirinos, 22, had already been arrested in connection with the same shooting in Aurora, Colorado.
Dixon Azuaje Pérez, 20, and Nixon Azuaje Pérez, 19, were also arrested in relation to the same incident, although they did not fire any shots.
Gang Members from the Tren de Aragua Arrested in Colorado
The Aurora Police Department (APD) made the arrests after several weeks of investigation into the gang members.
The violent Tren de Aragua gang, composed mostly of Venezuelans, has become a nightmare for the residents of Aurora, Colorado.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents are assisting APD in tracking down and arresting the Venezuelan gang members.
Some apartment complexes in Aurora, Colorado, have even become headquarters for Tren de Aragua gang members.
The Shooting in Aurora, Colorado, Began in the Early Morning
At 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024, the sound of gunfire alerted residents of North Nome Street in Aurora, Colorado.
APD patrols rushed to the area and found three victims outside the house at 1500 North Nome Street.

Two men were seriously injured by gunfire, while another had a leg injury. Paramedics transported the victims to a hospital.
The victims provided details of the crime, allowing APD investigators to link the gang members to the shooting.
Federal Agents Join the Investigation
U.S. Marshals, specialized in tracking violent fugitives, joined APD and HSI in the search for the violent gang members.
The first to be captured was Jhonardy José Pacheco Chirinos, a confessed member of the Tren de Aragua, who was taken into federal custody.
His arrest led to the capture of the other gang members: Jhonnarty Dejesús Pacheco Chrinos, Dixon Azuaje Pérez, and Nixon Azuaje Pérez.
In response to the community’s concerns about the Tren de Aragua, APD issued a statement about its efforts to combat the gang.
Aurora Police Urge the Community to Trust Their Efforts to Stop Tren de Aurora Violence
«APD continues to proactively and thoroughly investigate criminal activity and its possible connections to criminal organizations and their members,» the department said.
According to APD, officers «have been constantly monitoring areas of concern. We understand the distress our community is feeling.»
The APD statement reassured residents, saying, «We are committed to keeping our community safe.»
APD emphasized that «Aurora, Colorado, is a safe place to live, work, or visit,» concluding its statement.
Gun Violence Incidents Continue to Rise
The brutal shooting carried out by the violent Tren de Aragua gang members in Aurora, Colorado, is one of many firearm-related incidents.
According to the Gun Violence Archive, as of 2024, 11,606 people have died from gunfire in shooting incidents.
As of Wednesday, August 4, 2024, a total of 22,347 people have been injured by gunfire in various acts of violence.
In the United States, there have been 385 mass shootings in which at least four people were killed in a single violent gun attack.
