U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has expressed support for President Donald Trump’s strategy to negotiate an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
During his appearance at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Vance declared that the end of the war could be near.
«We are on the brink of peace in Europe for the first time in three years,» he stated during his speech.
Vance highlighted Trump’s negotiation skills, renowned for his approach of putting «everything on the table.»
Trump Begins Direct Talks with Russia, Excluding Ukraine
The Vice President emphasized that negotiating with Russia is necessary to reach a solution to the conflict.
Trump shocked the international community on February 12 by announcing a preliminary agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Both leaders agreed to begin negotiations aimed at ending the war and improving diplomatic relations.
However, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed strong opposition to being excluded from these talks.
Amid heightened tensions, Trump labeled Zelensky a «dictator», while the Ukrainian leader accused Trump of living in a «disinformation bubble.»
Zelensky later met with U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg in Ukraine to discuss the future of the conflict.

So far, Kyiv has refused to sign the deal proposed by Washington.
These ongoing negotiations with Russia could lead to a potential summit between Trump and Putin, signaling a major shift in global diplomacy.
