US Warns Visas Will Be Revoked for Participants in «Pro-terrorist» Protests

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned on Saturday that visas will be revoked or denied for those who participate in a «pro-terrorist» protest or come to the country with that intent.

«President (Donald) Trump is not (Joe) Biden,» mentioned Rubio in a statement on the social network X, formerly Twitter.

«If you come to the United States to participate in pro-terrorist riots, we will deny you the visa,» he added.

«And if you do so after lying to enter our country, we will cancel your visa and send you back home,» he stated on X.

US Issues Warning to Activists About Revocation of Visas

The head of US diplomacy had already warned on Friday that following the arrest of Palestinian student Mahmoud Khalil, there would be more detentions.

The young man, who completed his studies at Columbia University last December, was arrested last Saturday by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

This was due to, according to the government, directing activities «aligned with Hamas.»

Khalil was one of the leaders of the pro-Palestinian protests that took place last year on that campus, according to ‘EFE’.

Rubio emphasized on Friday that his administration continues to search for people «who should never have been allowed into the country with a student visa had we known they were going to do what they have done.»

He mentioned this in reference to their presence at those demonstrations.

The administration of Donald Trump, but also the previous one of Democrat Joe Biden (2021-2025), have equated protests against Israel with antisemitism.
