The spokesman also said that the protests that have taken place in Venezuela these days are due to:
«The Venezuelan people are taking to the streets to demand that their votes be counted,» he said, adding that «they cannot be blamed for that.»

«The international community is watching and we will respond accordingly,» he warned.
In a separate press conference, State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel also said that the US is “running out of patience.”
Will there be no more patience towards the Maduro government?
Patel also stressed the impatience of the international community, and stressed that «more and more countries» are asking the CNE to publish the voting records.
Patel recalled that the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold an extraordinary meeting in Washington on Wednesday to address the situation in Venezuela.
The CNE declared Maduro’s victory early Monday morning with 51% of the votes, but the main opposition bloc claims to have 85% of the votes cast.
That would give victory by a wide margin to their candidate, Edmundo González Urrutia, who stood as a substitute for opposition leader María Corina Machado, who was disqualified from running.
Clarity is called for in the electoral process
The UN, the European Union, the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Argentina and Spain, among others, have asked the Venezuelan electoral authorities to publish the voting records.
To verify Maduro’s alleged victory, while thousands of people have taken to the streets of Venezuela to protest what they consider electoral fraud.
The White House, for its part, announced that it will postpone making decisions on Venezuela, including the possibility of imposing new sanctions, until all the voting records from the elections are published.
The Biden administration has «serious concerns that the announced results do not reflect the will of the Venezuelan people,» said John Kirby. WITH INFORMATION FROM EFE.
