In a statement, the U.S. State Department said the TSJ’s ruling lacks credibility, noting that independent evidence shows that the true winner of the election was opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.

The Supreme Court, controlled by pro-Chavez judges, confirmed on Thursday that Maduro had won the election, concluding in an «unequivocal and unrestricted» manner the review of the results.
