At an impassioned campaign event in Greensboro, North Carolina, former president Donald Trump heightened his criticism towards current President Joe Biden.
Simultaneously, the Republican candidate further intensified his anti-immigrant rhetoric on Saturday, emphasizing certain issues he claims are problems.
According to The Associated Press, he baselessly accused President Joe Biden of orchestrating a «conspiracy to overthrow the United States of America.»
This unfolded just days before Super Tuesday on March 5.
Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric ramps up
In his characteristic provocative style, Trump launched into a tirade against Biden, focusing his attacks on the current president’s border policies.
Without presenting evidence, Trump asserted that Biden’s border management constitutes a conspiracy to undermine the nation.
This accusation adds to a series of inflammatory statements that have characterized Trump’s political career over the years.
He continues to use immigration as a central issue to mobilize his base, highlighting its negative aspects.
Giving aid to foreign enemies?
Trump, responded to criticism from Biden by calling him “the real threat to democracy.”
«Every day Joe Biden is giving aid and comfort to foreign enemies of the United States,» Trump stated during his rally in Greensboro, North Carolina.
This is not the first time Trump has used disinformation tactics to discredit his opponents.
“Biden’s conduct on our border is by any definition a conspiracy to overthrow the United States of America,” he went on according to the AP.
Trump railed against migrant crime
On Saturday, Trump evoked images of Biden turning «public schools into migrant camps,» noted The Associated Press.
He went on to falsely say he’s turning “the USA into a crime-ridden, disease-ridden dumping ground, which is what they’re doing.”
He also spoke at length about the murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old nursing student. Her alleged killer is a Venezuelan man who entered the United States illegally and was allowed to stay to pursue his immigration case.
It’s important to note that studies show U.S. residents are more likely to commit violent crimes than those in the country illegally.
What did he say about Biden?
Trump continued, saying Biden has damaged the country during his time in the White House.
«Biden and his accomplices want to collapse the American system, nullify the will of the actual American voters and establish a new base of power that gives them control for generations,» he said.
Since his defeat in the 2020 election, Trump has persisted in claiming, without evidence, that the election was rigged.
Similar arguments have long been made by people who allege that Democrats are promoting illegal immigration.
Does Trump see migrants as a danger to the country?
Trump leaned into his anti-immigrant rhetoric again at another rally in Virginia saying: «They’re trying to sign them up to get them to vote in the next election.»
President Joe Biden’s spokesperson, responded to the accusations.
«Once again Trump is projecting in an attempt to distract the American people from the fact he killed the fairest and toughest border security bill in decades because he believed it would help his campaign. Sad,» said spokesman Ammar Moussa, according to the AP.
