The president-elect of the United States, Donald Trump, assured that he will continue building the wall on the border with Mexico.
Trump lamented that the cost of the project will be «hundreds of millions» of dollars higher than the first segment constructed during his first term (2017-2021).
During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago, his residence in Florida, he emphasized that construction prices have risen significantly.
«It’s a very expensive process, a very costly wall,» stated the Republican, referring to the expenses associated with using steel in the initial phase.
REINFORCED CONCRETE AND DEPORTATIONS: TRUMP’S NEW BORDER WALL STRATEGY
However, he mentioned that this new stage will feature reinforced concrete, ensuring greater strength and durability in the construction.
«We have a very strong concrete and, in addition, a reinforcement bar,» Trump emphasized as an improvement for the new phase of the wall.
He also reiterated that his immigration policy will focus on mass deportations as a core pillar of his administration.
Trump will begin his second term in January, vowing to further tighten the migration policies implemented during his previous administration.
