Republican Donald Trump sparked a wave of reactions to controversial statements he made in Chicago during the National Association of Black Journalists.

He attacked Kamala Harris’ race by claiming that he did not know she was ‘Black’, when she was only promoting her Indian heritage.

«I didn’t know she was Black until a few years ago she became Black and wants to be known as Black,» he said.

«Is it one thing or the other? I respect both, but she obviously doesn’t,» said Trump, who claimed that she did it to win ‘votes’ with Black americans.

Trump didn’t mince his words about Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris is the daughter of a Jamaican father and an Indian mother, so she proudly promotes her race.

However, Trump believes that she is now doing it only ‘for votes’ and that ‘she suddenly became Black, triggering mixed reactions at the conference.

As reported by ‘Agencia EFE’, he was interviewed by Black journalists Rachel Scott of ABC and Kadia Goba, from Semafor.

But he called them ‘ill-mannered’ and ‘unpleasant’ when asked pointed questions.

The White House reacts to the strong offense

In response to such insults from Trump, the current government’s spokesperson, Karine Jean-Pierre, issued a statement.

The White House described Trump’s remarks as «repulsive» and highly «insulting»: «No one has the right to tell (Harris) who she is or how she identifies.»

But that was not the only controversial aspect of the interview, as Trump distanced himself from the words of the person he chose as vice president, JD Vance.

Vance criticized single women and people without children, prompting Trump to say: «I know people without families who are very good and in many cases better. Not having a family doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you.» HERE IS THE VIDEO.
