Donald Trump, the U.S. president-elect, issued a stern warning regarding American hostages held by Hamas.
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump declared that if the hostages are not released before January 20, 2025, when he assumes office, there will be «HELL TO PAY» in the Middle East.
The former president vowed that those responsible would face consequences «harsher than anyone in U.S. history.»
He criticized current efforts to address the situation, calling them «just words» and insufficient.

«If the hostages are not released before January 20, 2025, the date I proudly assume the office of President of the United States, there will be HELL TO PAY in the Middle East,» he posted.
«This is for those responsible for committing these atrocities against humanity,» Trump stated on Truth Social.

This statement comes as news breaks of the death of Omer Neutra, a 21-year-old American-Israeli soldier killed during Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023.
His body, along with 34 other hostages, remains in the hands of the Islamist group in Gaza, according to the Israeli military.

Current President Joe Biden expressed solidarity with the affected families.
«We stand with you. I will not stop working to bring your loved ones home,» he stated in a communiqué.
According to the American Jewish Committee (AJC), seven Americans are still held hostage, with Neutra being the youngest among them.
