Former Presidents Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and George W. Bush praise Jimmy Carter’s life of service following his death at age 100.

Carter passed away at his home in Plains, Georgia, after a long battle with aggressive cancer.

«President Carter taught us all what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice and service,» Obama declared on his social networks.

«Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family and to all who loved and learned from this extraordinary man,» he added.

Former President Clinton also paid tribute to Carter, noting his faith and dedication to others.

«Hillary and I mourn the passing of President Jimmy Carter and give thanks for his long and good life,» Clinton posted.

«I will always be proud to have awarded the Medal of Freedom to him and Rosalynn (his wife) in 1999, and to have worked with him after he left the White House,» he stressed.

Clinton recalled Carter’s tireless humanitarian work, especially his work with Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center, which left a lasting legacy.

For his part, George W. Bush, former Republican president, also highlighted Carter’s impact beyond his presidency.

«President Carter dignified his office. And his efforts to leave behind a better world did not end with the presidency,» he said.

«His work with Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Center set an example of service that will inspire Americans for generations,» Bush concluded.

The former presidents’ words highlighted Carter’s continued dedication to public service and his tireless efforts to improve the world.

Public Ceremonies Honoring Jimmy Carter in Washington and Georgia

As for the ceremonies that will be held to honor the former president, it has been confirmed that they will take place in Washington and in his home state of Georgia.

According to the Carter Center, these ceremonies will be open to the public to pay a final tribute to the former president.

In a moving message, Carter’s son, Chip, highlighted his father’s greatness.

«My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights and selfless love,» said Chip Carter.

Meanwhile, leaders around the world have paid tribute to Carter.

The president of Panama, José Raúl Mulino, recalled his important role in the negotiation of the Torrijos-Carter Treaties that resulted in the transfer of the Panama Canal to Panamanian hands.

Other Latin American leaders, such as Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil and Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, also highlighted his legacy of peace, democracy and human rights.

In his message, US President Joe Biden called Carter a «dear friend» and highlighted his «decency.»

Biden, who also seemed nostalgic, recalled that Carter never neglected those in need.

“Decency, decency, decency,” Biden repeated, emphasizing that Carter always acted with integrity and empathy.

The death of Carter, who had a significant impact on both politics and public life, has been mourned globally, not just for his contribution to the United States.

But also for its international influence, especially on issues of peace and human rights.
