Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham stated that the state is «fully prepared» to collaborate with federal agencies.

Buckingham explained that the facilities would be used for «processing, detention, and coordination of the largest deportation of violent criminals in the nation’s history.»
Homan elaborated that immigrants would be “in and out” quickly, with flights to various international destinations operating continuously.
He emphasized that using this land would streamline the process and reduce costs compared to acquiring new land.
During his campaign, Trump pledged to tighten immigration policies and carry out mass deportations of undocumented individuals.
In an interview with NBC, Trump stated that his initial focus would be on those with criminal records but hinted at the possibility of targeting other groups.
When asked whether he would deport everyone who entered the country illegally, Trump responded: “I think you have to.”
