The accident involved six vehicles at the intersection with Crawford Road, leading to a complete closure of the northbound direction of the highway while emergency teams worked on the scene, according to Denton County Emergency Services Department No. 1.

Argyle Police Chief Emmitt Jackson reported that six people were transported to local hospitals: four to Medical City Denton and two to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.

On Saturday, Jackson updated the information, confirming that three of those involved in the accident had died.

The accident appears to have been caused by two separate collisions at the same location.
