The bakeries suffered thousands of dollars in losses, according to the police report.

The investigation into Ramos and Vásquez was undertaken by detectives from the Robbery Unit of the San José Police Department.

It is unknown exactly how many armed robberies of Mexican bakeries occurred throughout San José in December 2023 and January 2024.

Once detectives realized that the crimes were mostly committed in Mexican bakeries, they focused on locating all of the victims and reviewing security cameras in the area.
