Her real name was Bertha Elisa Noeggerath Cárdenas, according to the Mexican Agency.
Dulce was born on July 29, 1954 in Heroica Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. From a young age, she showed an innate talent for music, which led her to emigrate to Monterrey, Nuevo León.
In 1974, she began her musical career with the band Toby and his friends, and later, with the support of the legendary José José, she launched her solo career in Mexico City.
Her career was a series of hits, with iconic songs such as “Tu Muñeca,” “Amor en silencio,” “Lobo,” “Déjame volver contigo.”
And other songs including “Wounds,” “I Still Love Him,” “Ice,” “I Was Too Easy,” “I’m a Lady,” “Face Face,” “Wounded Bird,” “Blame It on Me,” and “Which One.”
Dulce also participated in several international festivals, winning awards at the Mallorca Festival and the Yamaha Song Festival in Tokyo.
In recent months, Dulce has faced a series of health challenges that led to her being hospitalized on several occasions.
In May 2024, she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in one of her kidneys, resulting in the organ being removed.
Despite the successful surgery, Dulce had to cancel several performances and face a long recovery process.
In October 2024, during a private performance in Zacatecas, Dulce completely lost her voice and was diagnosed with pneumonia.
Doctors found a mass in her lungs, leading to pleuropulmonary decortication surgery in December.
Although the operation was successful, her recovery was slow and complicated.
Dulce will be remembered not only for her musical talent, but also for her resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
Her voice and stage presence left an indelible mark on Latin music.
