Two young siblings were tragically killed at a birthday party in Michigan, and now their family members have broken their silence.
It is important to remember that a 66-year-old woman, who appeared to be intoxicated, crashed into the Swan Boat Club, where the party was taking place.
Nine people were injured, some more seriously than others.

Saying goodbye after the Swan Boat Club crash
According to Detroit’s WXYZ, members of the Berlin community gathered last Friday night.
The Reason? To honor the lives of the children that were killed at a birthday party on Saturday, April 20.
As speakers delivered heartfelt words, attendees left notes, flowers and candles.
A memorial was erected in front of the yacht club. Alanah Phillips, 8, and Zayn Phillips, 4, were declared dead at the scene.
‘They were just at a birthday party’
One of the family members of the siblings killed in Michigan who spoke was their uncle.
«They were sitting there about to have cake and ice cream at a birthday…they were just at a birthday party,» said Nicholas Phillips.
The driver of the car, Marshella Chidester, was supposedly invited to the party.
Due to her alleged intoxication, she was asked not to attend.
What happened to the driver of the car?
According to WXYZ, the woman responsible for the Swan Boat Club crash that killed the two siblings was arrested.
Marshella Chidester faces eight charges, including two for second-degree murder.
She also faces two charges for driving under the influence and four for causing serious injuries.
She was released from jail last Thursday after posting a $1.5 million bail.
‘These babies haven’t even had a funeral yet’
Another one of the siblings’ uncles, Michael Hatfield, also spoke.
These babies haven’t even had a burial, a service yet and this lady’s drinking coffee at home.»
«And it’s even harder that we’re standing less than 100 yards from the person who done it. It’s an emotional roller coaster.»
According to WXYZ, the children’s mother, as well as their 11-year-old brother, are still recovering, as are the other victims.
