Video of the Uvalde tragedy. Almost two months after the tragedy that occurred at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas, where 19 students and two teachers were murdered by an 18-year-old shooter, new images have emerged of what really happened when Salvador Ramos entered school.

The Austin American-Statesman released portions of surveillance video on Tuesday showing police officers standing back and waiting in the hallway of Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas as the fatal shooting unfolded on May 24.

The clip shows never-before-seen moments of the shooter and the police inside Robb Elementary School, which has generated controversy on social media. This is because the police who entered the school in response to the armed intruder don’t appear to be doing anything to stop him.

It should be remembered that since the shooting occurred, many say that the massacre could have been avoided, since officers have been accused of being slow to react on that fateful day. Now, this new video may prove critics right.

According to The Sun, there is a 77-minute recording from a security camera located in one of the corridors of the elementary school. There you can see Salvador Ramos, the shooter who was killed at the scene, walking down the hallway with a semi-automatic rifle.

The shooter, dressed all in black and carrying a gun, goes into a classroom. Suddenly a student appears and sees Ramos entering the classroom. Shots are heard after he goes inside and the child is seen running down the corridor.

Then, the video shows the officers arriving at the school and immediately going to the room where the murderer was shooting at the children. The officers are also caught on camera fleeing down the hallway as Ramos fires in their direction, according to footage taken by the school’s security cameras.

What most dismayed social media users is that the 77 minute video shows some officers looking unconcerned after the shooting. They don’t try to open the door of the classroom and one police officer is observed applying hand sanitizer. Filed As: Video of the Uvalde tragedy

It was not until 77 minutes later that federal agents finally entered the room where Ramos was and killed him. One hour and 14 minutes had passed since the arrival of the officers. By then the shooter had killed 19 children and two teachers, and injured 17 others.

“We will first meet with members of the community and give them an opportunity to view the hallway video and discuss our preliminary report. We will release both to the public shortly thereafter,” state Rep. Dustin Burrows, chairman of the investigative committee, tweeted on Tuesday. Filed as: Video of the Uvalde tragedy.
