The story of Eduardo Mejía and Azucena Martínez begins when, without their parents’ permission, they go to the United States to try their luck and seek better opportunities for growth.

When he arrived in this country, he started looking for work. The first job was at a Chinese restaurant, and that was the beginning of his career in the food and beverage industry.

Here he found something that was part of him and brought him great satisfaction. In fact, over time, he was recognized as one of the best Latinos in managing restaurants, which made him feel very good.

However, due to legal issues, he received an email stating that he had to submit his papers within 24 hours.

Not giving up

When this happened, Eduardo felt like the world was crashing down on him. However, he didn’t want to give up. He and his wife decided to take on another job temporarily.

They dedicated themselves to cutting grass and gathering as much capital as possible. At the same time, they bought tools to do this work.

So, when they had gathered a considerable amount, they began to think about using it to acquire something they could grow and thus have their own company.

This is how they made the decision to acquire a restaurant called Kikos and venture into the food and beverage industry.

Although the company was and still is really good, Eduardo spent a couple of months thinking about how to make this restaurant have a lighter version.

In other words, a system similar to fast food rather than a full-fledged restaurant. After planning and putting all their effort into it, they both arrived at what they really thought was the next step.

They decided to found a concept called Little Kikos. In this place, the food offered is, according to their words, popular fast food but with a twist.

The concept, then, revolves around a menu of tacos and tortas and these types of dishes that are considered fast in this particular culture.
