A bus full of worshipers heading to an Easter festival plunged from a bridge on a mountain pass in South Africa.

The authorities immediately went to the area where the accident occurred and confirmed the death toll.

The bus burst into flames after the crash, killing nearly everyone on board.

The only ray of hope in the midst of the tragedy was an 8-year-old boy, who miraculously survived and is being cared for by medical personnel.

The Limpopo provincial government stated that the bus lost control on the Mmamatlakala Bridge, falling 164 feet into a ravine before being engulfed in flames.

Despite ongoing rescue efforts, authorities were sad to report that many of the bodies found were burnt beyond recognition.

Mourning the South Africa bus crash

It is presumed that the bus was heading from the neighboring country of Botswana to the city of Moria, Limpopo which is known for a popular pilgrimage to celebrate Easter.

The news of this tragic accident has shocked the South African nation, unleashing a wave of solidarity and support for the families and loved ones of the victims, according to The Associated Press.

In a statement issued from the capital, the South African expressed his deep sadness at the loss of life and ordered a thorough investigation to clarify the circumstances that led to this devastating event.

The international community has also expressed its solidarity with the South African people in this time of pain and mourning, offering help and support in rescue and care efforts to those affected.
