«She is one of the best performers we have produced in the arts and I am deeply saddened by her death,» declared the president.

The tragedy occurred after several weeks in which Zahara was hospitalized and the prognoses were not positive.

Zahara, whose real name was Bulelwa Mkutukana, was born on November 9, 1987 in East London, southeastern South Africa.

Throughout her career, she stood out as an accomplished self-taught guitarist, according to EFE.
