Four people have lost their lives following a shooting that occurred on Monday morning at the Forest Park station on the Blue Line of Chicago’s public transportation system (CTA).
The tragic incident took place at 711 Desplaines Avenue in Forest Park, Illinois.
According to information provided by the police, the shooting was reported via a 911 call.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found three people dead, and a fourth victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The suspect in the attack fled the scene but was later arrested on a CTA Pink Line train, according to ABC 7. During the arrest, law enforcement confiscated a firearm.
Authorities indicated that the incident appears to be isolated and does not pose an ongoing threat to the public. The CTA issued a statement condemning the act of violence.
«Although this was an isolated incident, this atrocious and egregious act of violence should never have occurred, especially not on public transportation,» they stated.
The CTA also emphasized that resources were immediately deployed to assist the Forest Park police in the investigation, including reviewing all security camera footage, which was crucial to advancing the investigation.
