The President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed that she was not invited to the inauguration ceremony of Donald Trump.
The event will take place on January 20 in the United States, marking the start of the new presidential term.
During the morning press conference, Sheinbaum was questioned about her participation in the event.
«No, but it’s okay, it’s okay,» the Mexican president stated when asked if she had received an invitation.
Esteban Moctezuma Will Represent Mexico at Trump’s Inauguration
The president assured that Esteban Moctezuma, Mexico’s ambassador to the United States, will represent the country at the ceremony.
«There is no problem,» she reiterated before leaving the Treasury Room of the National Palace.
Trump extended invitations to various world leaders for his inauguration.
Among the confirmed attendees are Javier Milei, President of Argentina, and Nayib Bukele, from El Salvador.
Also invited are Daniel Noboa, from Ecuador, and Xi Jinping, President of China.

The fact that Sheinbaum was not invited does not seem to have generated diplomatic conflicts.
Esteban Moctezuma will be present to ensure Mexican representation at the event.
