Amidst great anticipation, Shakira released her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran on Friday, March 22.

To kick off the launch, the Colombian singer premiered the song ‘Puntería,’ a collaboration with rapper Cardi B.

However, on social media, the song was heavily criticized, as many claim it is similar to Karol G’s ‘Tusa.’

Shakira released the tracklist for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran

On social media, the Colombian singer unveiled the tracklist for Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran at the end of February.

«Very excited to show you the song list and the incredible collaborations… (some of you already knew, others didn’t yet!).»

People immediately took not that Cardi B would collaborate with Shakira on ‘Puntería.’

In an interview, Shakira revealed that when she wrote this song, she thought about inviting the rapper to collaborate with her.

If she wants me to meow, I’m doing it’

According to Billboard, Shakira and Cardi B met earlier this year at Paris Fashion Week.

The rapper said in an interview that she was nervous because she wanted to approach the singer but didn’t dare: «I’m not gonna get next to her until they call me.»

In another part of the conversation, she said that if the Colombian asked her to meow, she would gladly do it.

«I always look at your videos, and it’s so crazy doing a video with you because all of your videos, you could just tell you take your time from the angle, to the dancing, to the things that pop,» she said.

‘Puntería’ is Shakira’s new single

It’s worth noting that Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran began to take shape in 2022 with the release of ‘Te felicito.’

Then, more singles followed, including ‘Monotonía’ and ‘Copa Vacía,’ until the release of ‘Puntería.’

Shakira began dropping hints on social media that this would be her ‘new’ first single.

The official video is already available on YouTube.

‘Puntería’ is criticized online

Although most of Shakira’s fans loved the song and the video for ‘Puntería,’ a few did not.

Among the comments that were repeated the most is that this song by Shakira and Cardi B is similar to another well-known tune.

«It seems more like Karol G’s video of ‘Tusa’.» «She copied Karol G in everything.»

On the other hand, one person said that they did not like this song at all and that they preferred the «Shakira of the 90s.»

Shakira’s new album is compared to chilaquiles

According to Milenio, there were more people who were not very happy with Shakira and Cardi B’s ‘Puntería.’

Moreover, there some people didn’t like the entire album.

«Her new album seems like chilaquiles, a little bit of every genre, basic lyrics, in ‘Pies descalzos’ her lyrics were exquisite.»
