In the early hours of this Wednesday, November 6, the Mexican businessman shared an unexpected message.

To start, the president of Grupo Salinas mentioned that there are two ‘political earthquakes’ that will severely impact Mexico’s economy.

One of these ‘earthquakes’ is «the abusive and fraudulent Judicial Reform.»

He says that this reform crowns a long list of constitutional changes that were made hastily and by force.

The other ‘earthquake’ Ricardo Salinas Pliego refers to relates to the recent victory of Donald Trump in the US elections:

By also winning the Senate and the Congress of the United States, it put the regime of Claudia Sheinbaum in the spotlight and on notice.

He stated that Trump threatened the president of Mexico with imposing tariffs and closing the border with this country.

This «if the regime does not change its policies of tolerance towards violence and drug trafficking,» he expressed.

«What economic effects can we expect from these uncertainties?» asked Ricardo Salinas Pliego.

The Mexican businessman outlined two scenarios: the price of the dollar will rise, and interest rates will increase.

«Investments will relocate to the US, where it is easier to invest since there are fewer regulatory obstacles»

«It is more profitable to invest, due to the market size and cost of capital and safer to invest because there is a real rule of law,» he concluded.
