A powerful explosion rocked a residential area in Moscow, Russia, resulting in the death of a prominent Russian general.

According to reports by ABC News, the incident was part of an intelligence operation carried out by Ukrainian forces.

The assassinated general, identified as Igor Kirillov, was killed by a bomb hidden inside a parked scooter.

The explosion occurred outside the building where the general resided, also killing his companion.

Russian General Killed in Ukrainian Intelligence Operation

The bomb in the scooter was reportedly detonated remotely, and Igor Kirillov was known as the head of Russia’s Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Protection Forces.

Sources close to ABC News confirmed that the attack was orchestrated by Ukrainian forces.

According to the news outlet: «Kirillov authorized the use of prohibited chemical weapons against Ukraine, making him a war criminal.»

«This is retribution for all the Ukrainians who perished at his hands. It was inevitable,» sources told ABC News.

Chilling Video of the Attack Surfaces

Video footage of the bomb explosion shows the Russian general exiting the building with his companion when the scooter suddenly detonates.

Just last Monday, Ukrainian forces labeled Igor Kirillov as a war criminal for ordering the use of prohibited weapons against Ukraine.

Reports indicate he was responsible for over 4,800 instances where banned chemical weapons were used since the beginning of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Months ago, Igor Kirillov alleged that the U.S. had aided Ukraine by supplying drones, which he referred to as «infectious mosquitoes.»
