For the second night in a row, Russia launched a massive attack on the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine, striking industrial facilities, residential buildings, and two daycare centers, according to local authorities on Monday.

The bombing left at least three people injured and caused large-scale fires.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that the attacks targeted the oldest and largest district of the city.

«Five industrial buildings belonging to one of the analysis and production companies were damaged,» he said on Telegram.

Emergency services reported that the flames spread over an area of 3,900 square meters.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that overnight, Russia launched 131 drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at various regions across the country.

Of those, 57 drones were shot down and another 45 failed to reach their targets due to electronic countermeasures. It has not been confirmed whether the missiles were intercepted.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denounced that Moscow has used over 1,000 drones in the past week and called for a strong response from the United States and its allies.

Meanwhile, the Russian government accused Ukraine of using drones to attack energy infrastructure on Russian territory.

Hospital Attack in Ukraine and War Crimes Allegations

The Ukrainian government announced it will present new evidence to international bodies to report Russia for war crimes.

This comes after a nighttime bombing directly hit a hospital in Kharkiv on Saturday, killing two and injuring 25, including a 15-year-old girl in critical condition.

“The deliberate and targeted bombing of a Ukrainian medical facility by the Russian army adds to the long list of vile and cynical crimes committed since the invasion began,” said the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The evidence will be submitted to international courts.

Escalating Tensions

The new attack comes just days after a partial ceasefire brokered by the United States aimed at limiting strikes on energy infrastructure and targets in the Black Sea. However, both sides have accused each other of violating the agreement.

Additionally, the city of Kupiansk, east of Kharkiv, was struck by missiles on Sunday, leaving five people injured and damaging residential buildings. Kupiansk, which was occupied by Russia in 2022 and later recaptured by Ukraine, now faces a renewed Russian offensive.

So far, the Kremlin has not issued statements regarding the recent attacks.
