Sueño Millonario: The story of Rosa Moreno, The kitchen designer
We introduce you to the story of Rosa Moreno, who, with tutorials, learned to create what today is her kitchen design business.
- Sueño Millonario shares the story of Rosa Moreno
- A woman who, despite not having full mastery of a language, managed to found her own company.
- Her focus has always been on wanting to help people.
Rosa Moreno is a woman from Mexico who moved to the United States at the age of 18.
When Rosa’s father passed away, she decided she wanted to leave her birthplace. A marriage proposal from a long-standing relationship enabled her to do so.
The cultural shock was tremendous for her, but she felt it was necessary to leave the past behind.
Nobody knew who she was, where she came from, or anything like that, which gradually changed over time, thanks in her words, to magnificent people who helped her and angels who supported her.
Rosa’s Early Jobs
Rosa started by working jobs ranging from being a waitress to cleaning houses, which she did not consider shameful.
Her father had given her advice she never forgets: whatever you do, do it well.
She recalls doing well as a waitress and learned to be a bartender, but her earnings were about the same.
She shared that she earned $150 for cleaning houses, including mansions.
Job Hunting
Thanks to her American ex-husband, she had an easier time with citizenship and social security matters.
After a while, her papers came through, and she began job hunting.
Unfortunately, no one called her for an interview until she was offered one at a shopping center.
She was nervous, as her English wasn’t fluent.
Department Store Job
Her interview was humorously complicated, but in the end, she got the job.
From day one, Rosa was an excellent worker. She arranged clothes impeccably and served customers wonderfully.
After some time, her manager expressed interest in sending her to a mentorship program to become a manager.
Rosa accepted. Gradually, she gained more knowledge. However, upon learning she was pregnant, she changed her plans, as the job was demanding and she wanted to spend time with her family.
The World of Design
Later, with her ex-husband’s help, she entered the world of kitchen design. She went for a job interview, even though she wasn’t yet an expert.
Her enthusiasm and attitude landed her a position, but she had much to learn as American and Mexican kitchens differ. Fortunately, she had supportive people around her.
Her boss, whom she considers one of her greatest helpers, asked her to learn a technical job to generate images.
She managed to do this through YouTube, which was her teacher. And she succeeded.
Her Own Company
She began thinking about her own company, about creating it.
Her biggest fear was that, previously, she only did designs but didn’t interact with clients or represent the company’s face.
It was time to leave that fear behind once and for all.
With fear but determination, she did it.
Rosa Moreno Kitchens
Currently, her company is recognized for its excellent quality in specialized kitchen design.
Due to the pandemic, people began spending more time at home, which helped her business a bit, but she mentions this respectfully. People realized the importance of this space.
While she can’t recall the exact number, she claims they have remodeled over 300 kitchens. She also, with a laugh, says she still doesn’t fully master English but is improving.
We hope you liked the story of Rosa Moreno. Sueño Millonario signs off for now. Until next time!
