On the night of Wednesday, May 7, reports surfaced of the alleged death of Karely, daughter of Mexican influencer Lupita TikTok, after more than a week hospitalized in critical condition.

Outlets such as Ernesto Chavana’s show and journalist Lalo Elizondo confirmed the death as brain death.

But the family has not yet issued an official confirmation backed by medical documentation.

The baby was admitted on April 27 to the Maternal and Child Hospital of Monterrey with a high fever and dehydration.

She later suffered seizures and was diagnosed with signs of severe neurological damage.

According to medical sources cited by journalists, two clinical tests were performed showing no brain activity, which led to a diagnosis of brain death.

On social media, presenter Ernesto Chavana expressed his condolences for Lupita TikTok’s daughter’s death on air:

“Today has been very sad knowing that the little girl passed away. May she rest in peace.”

What is the family saying?

The official page of Lupita TikTok denied that there is, so far, any medical document certifying Karely’s death.

In a social media post, they stated:

“Lupita is currently resting because the past 10 days have been very difficult for her. We appreciate your concern… Don’t believe false information.”

The situation further escalated after the Nuevo León Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into alleged negligence involving Ricardo Medellín, Lupita TikTok’s partner, at the request of the state’s child protection agency (DIF).

Some social media users have accused the couple of «profiting» from the tragedy and are demanding clear answers.

The case has stirred significant reaction on social media and in national media—not only due to the seriousness of the child’s condition but also because of the lack of official confirmation and the allegations of negligence.
