«When the reconstruction process begins, they will need a lot of labor, and there are no better construction workers than the Mexican men and women,» declared the president.

The fires, considered the most devastating Los Angeles has faced, have left at least 24 dead and more than 180,000 people evacuated.

In addition to about 10,000 structures damaged or destroyed.

In response to the crisis, Mexico sent a special humanitarian aid team.

Which consists of 72 members from the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA).

These specialists are part of the DN-III Plan, a program dedicated to assistance in natural disasters, and have been key in support and rescue tasks.

Sheinbaum emphasized that this action reflects the humanistic commitment of her administration, highlighting the generosity and brotherhood of the Mexican people.

«Mexican humanism is our sustenance. Wherever we can, we will always help,» she expressed.

Mexico’s collaboration has been recognized by prominent figures, such as the Governor of California, Gavin Newsom, and celebrities affected by the fires, including Gene Simmons, the vocalist of the band Kiss.

Los Angeles, home to more than a million people of Mexican origin, has been severely hit by these fires.

Although the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) has not reported any Mexicans among the victims, it remains alert to the possibility of affected individuals.

Sheinbaum emphasized the deep connection between Mexico and Los Angeles, describing both communities as «sisters.»

This relationship, she said, is a reminder of the historical and cultural bond that unites Mexicans with the Californian city.

Moreover, the president did not hesitate to highlight the importance of Mexican workers in the next stage of reconstruction.

Sheinbaum also highlighted the value of international cooperation in the face of large-scale disasters.

«Our solidarity is with Los Angeles. We will always be ready to support,» she affirmed.

The impact of the Los Angeles fires has been devastating not only in terms of human losses but also in the destruction of homes, businesses, and public spaces.

The reconstruction process is expected to be lengthy and will require significant labor, economic resources, and logistics.

The Mexican leader emphasized that Mexican workers possess globally recognized skills in the construction sector.

Which positions them as key players in infrastructure projects.

Mexico’s participation reaffirms its role as a strategic ally in the region.

And highlights the capacity of its labor force to contribute to large-scale reconstruction projects.

This joint effort also strengthens community ties and demonstrates the positive impact of the Mexican diaspora in times of adversity.

As the reconstruction progresses, it is clear that Mexican labor will be a key component in the rebirth of the affected areas, just as stated by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.
