- The real cause of Alejandro Arcos’ death.
- It’s claimed he met with drug traffickers.
- Why was he decapitated?
The violence in Guerrero has taken a chilling turn with the murder of Mayor Alejandro Arcos, a member of the PRD-PRI alliance.
His body was found on October 6, hours after he allegedly met with members of the criminal group known as «Los Ardillos,» according to El Blog del Narco.
This group, led by brothers Celso and Iván Ortega Jiménez, is notorious for its involvement in drug trafficking and extortion in the region.
The meeting between Arcos and «Los Ardillos» didn’t have a precise date, but it’s known that the mayor attended without his usual security.
THE ‘TRUTH’ ABOUT ALEJANDRO ARCOS’ DEATH IS REVEALED
This lack of protection has raised questions about the nature of his relationship with organized crime.
Hours after the meeting, Arcos was reported missing, and his body was found in the Villa del Roble neighborhood, with his head placed on the roof of a vehicle.

This type of execution is a clear message of intimidation, reminiscent of other violent incidents perpetrated by the same group.
Such as the gruesome discovery of five heads in June 2023 in San Mateo Plaza, as reported by news outlets.
Alejandro Arcos had been the only candidate able to campaign in areas controlled by «Los Ardillos» during the last elections.
His political rivals, Jorge Salgado Parra from Morena-PT and Víctor Toledo from MC, were unable to enter these areas due to direct threats from hitmen.
This context suggests a possible collusion or at least tolerance between the mayor and the criminal group.
The fact that Arcos attended the meeting without security raises questions about his perception of the risk or his potential complicity with «Los Ardillos.»

The relationship between local politicians and criminal groups has been a recurring issue in Guerrero, where violence has displaced many elected officials and created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty.
The way Alejandro Arcos’ body was left is not accidental. The use of decapitations as a method to send messages is a common tactic among Mexican cartels.
In this case, it appears to be a deliberate attempt to terrorize other officials and maintain control over the region, El Blog del Narco highlighted.
The previous mayor, Norma Otilia Hernández, had also been subjected to similar threats, indicating that the criminal group does not hesitate to use brutal tactics to secure its dominance.
