On Thursday, September 8, the tragic death of England’s monarch, Queen Elizabeth II was announced. She was 96 years old. Now some details of her funeral have been released and it has even been revealed what her coffin looks like.

It should be remembered that the Queen’s coffin will be transferred to the Scottish cathedral of St. Giles, in Edinburgh, where it will remain for 24 hours. Scottish citizens will be able to pay their respects and say goodbye to the monarch who ruled for more than 70 years, according to EFE.

After the news of Queen Elizabeth II’s death was announced, the Rev. Calum MacLeod, minister of that cathedral, recalled that the queen was a «strong and faithful servant.» He added, «With the entire nation, at St. Giles Cathedral we mourn the death of Her Majesty the Queen, a strong and faithful servant to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth for many years.»

Now some details have been released about  what the coffin where the remains of Queen Elizabeth will rest during this 10-day funeral. It is worth mentioning that almost the entire world is grieving after learning of the terrible loss.

According to the Instagram account N.Más, details about the Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin have been released. They posted a video revealing what the coffin will be made of and what will adorn the top of it.

“Queen Elizabeth II will rest in a coffin made of English oak. Four objects that have accompanied the monarch throughout her life will be placed on it,” can be read in the media outlet’s post. Filed Under: Queen Elizabeth II Coffin

The coffin is made of a strong combination of English oak and lead and was manufactured by the Henri Smith company. It was made 30 years ago and it matches the one that her husband Felipe is now resting in.

Following the royal tradition, the coffin will have four objects on top of it. It will be draped with the Royal Standard of the British monarch which depicts three lions for England, a red lion for Scotland and a harp for Ireland. The main colors are crimson and gold. On top will be the Imperial State Crown, which is a made of fine gold with several precious jewels adorning it. The crown has 2868 diamonds, 17 Sapphires, 11 Emeralds, 269 pearls, 4 rubies and will be accompanied by the famous Sceptre with Cross and the Sovereign’s Orb.
