The new document removes a key section of the original indictment that mentioned Trump’s interactions with the Justice Department.

The decision also led to the exclusion of Jeffrey Clark, a Justice Department official who supported Trump’s baseless claims of election fraud, as a co-defendant in the case.

Although Trump’s co-defendants have not been named in the official indictments, they have been identified through other public documents.

Despite the changes, the indictment still includes allegations that Trump pressured then-Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the electoral vote count.

However, Chief Justice John Roberts has indicated that the interactions between Trump and Pence could be considered part of the former president’s official conduct.

This would grant him immunity from prosecution in that regard, AP reported.
