The first piece of advice for your post-holiday detox might seem logical to some extent.

This is to try to avoid drinking too much alcohol, or avoid it entirely if possible. It’s not good for you!

Alcohol takes eight hours or more to leave your body, depending on the amount you’ve consumed.

If you wish, make this one of your main New Year’s resolutions. Life looks better when you’re sober.

Drink water for your post-holiday detox

Another mistake many people make during this time, because it’s colder, is not drinking enough water.

As part of your post-holiday detox, it is essential to make sure you drink plenty of water.

These tips may seem obvious, but many people overlook them.

Try to drink six to ten glasses of water a day, even if you aren’t thirsty. It’s important to stay hydrated.

The importance of getting a good night’s sleep

You might not think that sleeping well has to do with detoxing but it does.

In addition to overeating and drinking too much, we often don’t get enough rest during the holidays.

Some say sleep is even more important for health and avoiding drinking and eating well.

So to recover from all the celebrating making sure you get eight hours of sleep every night.

The dangers of salt and sugar

According to experts, a diet rich in salt is associated with a higher risk of developing hypertension.

Meanwhile, excess sugar can lead to obesity and diabetes.

Ideally, we should cut sugar and salt consumption entirely, but we know it’s very challenging.

As part of your post-holiday detox, try to maintain a balanced diet… and exercise.

Eat fruits and vegetables for your post-holiday detox

Finally, one more piece of advice to consider for a healthy body is to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

If we don’t eat healthy foods during the rest of the year, we certainly don’t during the holidays.

The beginning of a new year is an ideal time to resume this habit. According to Ámbito, there are some fruits and vegetables to prioritize.

Add broccoli, spinach, blueberries, apples and bananas to your diet.
