Los Angeles Bus Chase and Hijacking Leaves One Dead

An armed man hijacked a bus in Los Angeles, leading to a police chase that tragically resulted in the death of one person.

The incident began around 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday when police received calls about a possible armed assault.

Metropolitan Police Department Deputy Chief Donald Graham confirmed that the situation started with an «assault with a deadly weapon.»

Officers located the hijacked bus stopped on a street in the southern part of the city. As police approached, the driver attempted to flee.

The police chase lasted approximately an hour, involving multiple patrol cars and resources to stop the hijacked vehicle.

Officers eventually stopped the hijacked bus in downtown Los Angeles by deploying spike strips along the road.

Inside the bus, police rescued two people and arrested a suspect, whose identity has not yet been revealed.

Sadly, a fourth person was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital, where they later died.

Footage broadcast by local media showed several vehicles and officers surrounding the stopped bus in the middle of the street.

Police confirmed that the hijacker acted alone, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
