An air incident caused tension at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) after a Japan Airlines plane collided with the tail of a Delta Air Lines aircraft.

This happened on the morning of Wednesday, February 5th.

The collision occurred at 10:17 a.m. (Pacific Time) while the Japan Airlines plane was taxiing.

At that time, the Delta aircraft was parked in the maintenance area.

The airport reported that the collision occurred on a taxiway between the S Concourse terminal and the maintenance hangars in the southern sector of the airfield.

Despite the impact, airport authorities confirmed that there were no injuries among passengers or crew members of either aircraft.

Delta Air Lines detailed that the collision occurred during a deicing operation on its Boeing 737.

«The tail of the Delta plane made contact with the tip of the wing of another airline’s plane,» explained a spokesperson for the company to local media.

The Delta spokesperson regretted the situation and apologized to the affected passengers, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the flight delays.

The impact on airport operations was minimal, according to authorities.

Although inspections were conducted to assess structural damage to the aircraft, detailed ‘Daily Mail’.

To date, the extent of the damage to the planes or the time required for repairs has not been specified.

Aviation experts noted that such incidents can be due to miscalculations in maneuvers or visibility problems on the runway.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it will investigate the circumstances of the collision to determine possible failures in safety protocols.

Japan Airlines has not issued an official statement about the incident, but it is expected to provide information about its assessment of the events in the coming hours.

On social media, some passengers reported delays in their flights and expressed their concerns about ground safety within the airport.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is one of the busiest on the west coast of the USA, with hundreds of daily flights operated by national and international airlines.

This incident occurs in a context where airport security is under review due to various mishaps recorded in the airline industry in recent months.

The involved airlines will work together with authorities to clarify what happened and strengthen measures to prevent future accidents.

The collision between the aircraft adds to a list of minor incidents that have occurred at international airports so far this year.

Investigations will determine if the mishap was the result of human error, a signaling mistake, or a combination of operational factors.

Meanwhile, affected passengers were rebooked on other flights to minimize the inconvenience caused by the delay.

Airport authorities reminded that safety is their priority, and any incident is analyzed to implement improvements in procedures.

In the coming days, the FAA may issue a preliminary report with the initial findings on the collision between the Delta and Japan Airlines planes.

Despite the scare, the quick response from the security and maintenance teams allowed the situation not to escalate into a larger problem.

The incident in Seattle highlights the importance of precise coordination in ground maneuvers within airports.

Airlines maintain their commitment to safety and will review their procedures to ensure that similar incidents do not recur in the future.

For now, the airport operates normally, and scheduled flights continue without major disruptions, affirmed ‘Daily Mail‘.
