Ovidio ‘El Ratón’ Guzmán López appeared before Judge Sharon Johnson Coleman in the Northern District Court of Illinois, in Chicago.
Ovidio was captured in January 2023 and on September 15 he was extradited to the United States.
The son of ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán is accused in a Chicago court of five counts of drug trafficking and money laundering.
He is also accused of illegal use and possession of firearms and carrying out financial transactions with the proceeds of illegal activities.
He was extradited to the US
According to EFE, Ovidio Guzmán arrived in the United States on September 15, being confirmed by the country’s Justice Department.

Two of the five charges Guzmán faces in Chicago carry a mandatory life sentence.
