Óscar de la Hoya threatens lawsuit
According to De La Hoya, Álvarez has defamed his name and reputation with the purpose of dissuading others from doing business with him or his company, Golden Boy.
«Canelo has made false accusations against Oscar with the specific intention of deterring other boxers from doing business with him or Golden Boy,» a document states.
De La Hoya also pointed out that these accusations are laden with real malice, stating that Álvarez is upset because his career hasn’t been the same since he ended his professional relationship with Golden Boy.
