On Monday, November 13, a heinous crime shocked all of Mexico.
The judge of the Electoral Court of Aguascalientes, Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo, was found dead in his home along with his partner.
His close friends and family confirmed the news, indicating that his bodyguard was the one who discovered their bodies.
The state prosecutor’s office has now revealed disturbing information about this incident.
There were signs of violence
Mexican media reported that there were signs of violence at the scene, which confirmed that it was murder.
In addition, friends and family said that everything seemed normal with the two men the night before.
The judge, recognized for being the first non-binary person to hold a senior position in an electoral court, stood out for his activism.
Specifically, he focused his efforts on defending the rights of the LGBT+ community and promoting inclusive language in all areas.
During a morning conference, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador confirmed Baena’s tragic death.
Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, promised to oversee the investigation.
However, Rodríguez Velázquez refrained from making additional comments about the tragic event during the conference.
Social media was flooded with condolences and demands for justice.
Was it really a murder-suicide?
On Tuesday, the prosecutor for the State of Aguascalientes, Jesús Figueroa Ortega, announced that Judge Jesús Ociel Baena Saucedo was murdered by his partner.
The person responsible was identified as Dorian Daniel Nieves Herrera, who then killed himself.
«The investigation we have is that an argument begins between the two of them on the upper floor of the property,» said the official.
«We found a stain on the bed and a mess on the other side,» he added to Radio Formula regarding the unfortunate incident.
How the judge’s body was found
Figueroa revealed all the details of how the crime may have occurred.
«The autopsies found 20 wounds on the magistrate’s body,» he began.
«Nineteen are superficial with a sharp object that we identified as razor blades,» the prosecutor continued.
The official pointed out traces of blood and drips that suggest Baena Saucedo was still alive when he went down the stairs after the knife attack.

In the case of Ociel’s partner, the prosecutor’s office indicates that, according to the investigation, he used another knife to slit his own throat.
According to El País, this resulted in his death. Both bodies were found inches from each other.
A few hours after the tragic death LGBTQ groups carried out an unprecedented mobilization at the national level.
They held vigils and protests in more than 30 cities, with slogans such as «Crime of passion, national lie.»
Disturbing images of the murder-suicide were leaked
Shocking photographs of the crime scene were shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user called El Campeón de la Humanidad.
The description read: «The first images of Ociel Baena’s ‘suicide’ reach us at the #PerroNews command center (actually at the work site).»
However, so far there is no confirmation that these are truly images of Judge Ociel Baena.
In the explicit images, you can see a hand on the floor, that is presumable one of the bodies, and a lot of blood.
