Pop singer Nick Carter, a well-known member of the Backstreet Boys, has been accused of rape for a fourth time, according to a new civil lawsuit filed in the state of Nevada, United States.

The complaint, reported by Variety, was filed last week by Laura Penly.

She claims that Carter forced her to have sex with him on two occasions between 2004 and 2005.

This occurred during what she describes as a relationship that initially began consensually.

According to the legal filing, Penly alleges that the assaults took place following previous consensual encounters.

She further claims that Carter did not use protection, which she says led to her contracting multiple sexually transmitted infections, including human papillomavirus (HPV).

Penly asserts that her HPV infection eventually led to cervical cancer years later.

She is seeking $15,000 in damages as part of the civil suit.

In response, Nick Carter’s attorneys issued a statement describing the new claim as part of an orchestrated campaign by a «gang of conspirators» who, they allege, are attempting to damage the singer’s career by exploiting the legal system.

They added that Carter “doesn’t even remember meeting” the plaintiff and accused Penly of having a documented history of financial and legal troubles, including fraud lawsuits.

This lawsuit adds to three previous cases filed against Carter for alleged sexual misconduct.

Among the most widely publicized is the accusation by singer Melissa Schuman, who in 2022 claimed Carter drugged and raped her in 2003, when she was still a minor.

Legal Counteractions from Carter

In response to the growing list of accusations, Nick Carter has filed countersuits for damages against some of his accusers, including Schuman.

To date, Carter has not faced any criminal charges, though civil proceedings remain ongoing.
