SEATTLE (AP) – Aaron Judge rounded out an early offense against Seattle pitcher Yusei Kikuchi with his 20th home run of the season, and the Yankees held on to a 5-4 victory over the Mariners on Wednesday. For the second game in a row, the Yankees scored a succession of runs in the first two innings, but this time they had to to resist a late offensive from Seattle.
The Yankees are the winners
Kikuchi (6-4) struggled in his first start since being selected for his first All-Star game. Luis Cessa (2-1) won the victory for his good work in 3 1/3 innings. Jonathan Loaisiga pitched a perfect eighth and Chad Green took over the ninth for his third save. For the Yankees, the Dominicans Gary Sánchez 4-0 with a run scored. The Venezuelan Gleyber Torres 4-1 with two runs scored. Colombian Gio Urshela 4-1.
