Now, it has been confirmed that he has died at 82 at his residence in Miami, according to EFE. The cause of his death has not been specified.
His agency, Allendorf Media, released a statement about the sad news.
Subsequently Farian’s family confirmed it.
Frank Farian’s musical legacy

With an impressive 800 million records sold, Farian stands out as the most internationally successful German producer.
Born Franz Reuther on June 18, 1941 in Kirn an der Nahe in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, Farian grew rapidly in the industry.
He began his music career by founding the rock band Frankie Farian & die Schatten in 1961, which catapulted him to fame.
At the end of the sixties, he signed his first record contract as a solo artist, releasing his first number one hit in 1976, entitled ‘Rocky, according to Milenio.
He created Boney M in the 70s

Frank Farian reached the pinnacle of his career in the mid-70s when he created the iconic disco band, Boney M.
They sold more than 150 million records, including more than 60 million singles with hits like ‘Rasputin,’ ‘Rivers of Babylon,’ ‘Daddy Cool’ and ‘Ma Baker.’
In the late 80s, he had another major success as a producer with pop duo Milli Vanilli, known for songs such as ‘Girl You Know It’s True’ and ‘I’m Gonna Miss You.’
However, shortly after they skyrocketed to fame, a major scandal broke.

It was revealed that Milli Vanilli members, Rob Pilatus and Fab Morvan, were not actually singing their songs, they were dancing and lip syncing to pre-recorded tracks.
Last December a movie based on the scandal, called Girl You Know It’s True, hit theaters.
The film was directed by Simon Verhoeven, according to Milenio.
German actor Matthias Schweighöfer plays Farian in the film which depicted the events surrounding this shocking incident.
