In a night full of surprises and emotions, MundoNOW stood out by obtaining 8 statuettes at the Southeast Emmy Awards.
The 50th edition of these awards ceremony was held at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia.
This consolidated MundoNOW as the Hispanic media with the most awards in this edition.
The Southeast Emmy Awards recognize the best audiovisual works in the region, both in English and Spanish.
MundoNOW Collective Triumph

René Alegría, CEO of MundoNOW, expressed his satisfaction with the team’s achievements.
«These Emmy Awards represent the collective work of everyone at MundoNOW,» said Alegría.

Hard News Report: Carlos Moreno and Adolfo Alvarado won for their report «Hispanic Mother Manages to ‘Catch’ Her Son’s Killer.»
Historic/Cultural/Politics/Government/Societal: Kristel Escobar, Diego Silva Acevedo, Alfredo Suárez and Kelly Young Silva were awarded for «Domestic Violence: Legal and Immigration Impact.»
Documentary: Diego Silva Acevedo, Alfredo Suárez, Ramón Urdaneta and Carlos Andrés Cuervo for the documentary «The Art of Beekeeping.»
Sports: Ángel Ortega, Johana Fernández, Ronald Medina and José Antolinez received the award for «Behind the Mirror: The Dark Side of Fitness.»
Human Interest/Lifestyle – News: Ramón Urdaneta, Diego Silva Acevedo, Alfredo Suárez and Ignacio González stood out with «Nacho the Bionic: ‘Disability is Mental’.»
News Feature – Single Report: Paola Camacho and Luis Contreras were recognized for «Mother Celebrates the Dream of her Quinceañera.»
