A tragic accident occurred on Monday morning off the coast of San Diego, California, leaving three people dead and at least nine others missing.
The incident took place when a small panga-style boat capsized off the coast of Del Mar, near the California-Mexico border.
The boat, carrying approximately 16 migrants, overturned.
This prompted a large-scale rescue operation by local authorities.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the emergency call came in around 6:30 a.m. local time (13:30 GMT), reporting the California shipwreck.
Rescue teams were immediately deployed to the area, just north of Torrey Pines State Beach, to search for the missing and provide medical assistance to survivors.
Coast Guard spokesperson Hunter Schnabel confirmed that four people were rescued alive, although they required medical attention after being pulled from the water.
Authorities also confirmed the deaths of three individuals and reported that nine others who were aboard the vessel at the time of the accident remain missing.
