According to research and overdose death tracking in the United States by the San Francisco Chronicle, hundreds of thousands have already perished this year.

By 2023, over one million individuals will have succumbed to drug overdoses in the country.

The journalistic investigation asserts that the African-American community experiences the highest number of drug overdose deaths.

Although the Hispanic population in the United States has also seen a rise in such fatalities, the numbers remain significantly lower than those experienced by the African-American community.
