Memo was best known for his work on musical programs and as director of the Telehit channel.
Memo del Bosque, whose full name was Guillermo del Bosque, first announced in 2017 that he had been diagnosed with cancer, which led to an intense medical treatment journey.
At the time, he underwent 12 rounds of chemotherapy and six more months of intensive treatments, eventually appearing to overcome the disease.
In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he publicly shared that the cancer had been eradicated from his body.
This news was celebrated by his family, friends, and many figures from the entertainment industry.
However, in March 2025, he posted an Instagram Story that raised concern about a possible recurrence of the illness.
“It’s been a tough time, a full month of health challenges, supported by my dear brothers and my doctor in Texas, Juan Francisco Castro. A big hug to anyone who needs it,” he wrote in the message.
Many interpreted these words as a show of empathy toward other patients, while others saw it as a sign that his condition had worsened once again.
His death deeply impacted the entertainment industry in Mexico, where Memo del Bosque left an undeniable legacy.
He was a champion of young talent, a creator of innovative content, and a leader behind some of the most popular programs on Telehit.
Throughout his career, Memo was known for his dedication, creativity, and passion for television, as well as his warm and approachable nature with artists and colleagues.
In his farewell message, he also expressed gratitude for the years he had after his initial diagnosis.
“I thank God for allowing me to keep living since 2017, and for being able to enjoy my children, Vica, and my entire family,” he said.
He also included heartfelt words for his friends, many of whom stood by him until the end.
“I give thanks for my friends who never left. Thank you for all your love,” he wrote in the post, which has since been widely shared online.
“It was a long journey of experiences and emotions that I’m grateful to have lived and shared with each of you,” he added.
“Now I have finished the fight, my struggle is over, and I am a new being rejoicing in the presence of my Creator,” the message reads.
“The earth sings, heaven praises, and all shout that You are holy, my Lord. With love,” the statement concluded.
Memo del Bosque was married to TV host Vica Andrade, and in the past, he also had a relationship with Mónica Noguera.
His legacy as a producer and his brave fight against cancer inspired thousands of people who followed his journey over the years.
“Great Memo. You will always live in our hearts,” mourned Erik Rubín. “Thank you for everything, Memo. Rest in peace,” wrote Cynthia Urías.
“My dear Memo!” said Kika Edgar. “All the way to heaven,” added Antonio Mauri. “A hug to the family,” said Ricardo Casares.
