Opposition leader Maria Corina Machado said that Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia is the true president-elect of Venezuela.
The opposition won 70% of the votes in the elections held this Sunday, Machado said.
«Venezuela has a new president and it is Edmundo González Urrutia,» Machado said.
With the opposition candidate at his side, he added: «We won and everyone knows it.»

«We have won in all sectors of the country, in all states,» she added.
Machado stressed that the international community is aware of what happened this Sunday in Venezuela.
She called on polling station members to remain at the voting centers and obtain voting cards.
The president of Vente Venezuela stated that this «is not just another fraud, it is a violation of popular sovereignty and disregard.»
Opposition candidate González Urrutia sent a message confirming that they will continue to defend the true results.
«Our fight continues and we will not rest until the will of the people of Venezuela is respected,» he said.

He clarified that his statement «is not a call to take to the streets for violence.»
The Venezuelan Electoral Council declared Nicolás Maduro the winner with 51% of the votes.
