Who was Akil Drake?

Among the victims was Akil Drake, 27, an employee of Chase Bank, who had been seen inside the building shortly before the explosion.

Drake’s body was eventually found in the basement of the building, authorities stated.

In total, seven people were taken to Mercy Health Hospital in Youngstown.

This included a woman who remained in critical condition on Wednesday, according to the AP.

What caused the explosion?

The state fire chief’s office has taken over the investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion.

«We have no idea what caused the explosion. We know there was an explosion that caused a lot of damage to the lower part of the building,» said Finley on Tuesday.

The police and Mahoning County Emergency Management Agency continue to collaborate on the investigation.
