According to 20 Minutos, Vanessa is represented by her lawyer Luis Li. She is suing on the grounds that her family’s privacy was invaded and her husband’s death was handled with enormous insensitivity when at least eight police officers took photos of the accident and shared them.

“The images were repeatedly shared with people who had absolutely no reason to receive them. They took the photos to laugh,» began Li’s speech, before giving details of what those images were like. «You could see mangled bodies, close-ups of limbs and burned flesh,» he said.

The wife of one of the accused detectives supported this contention. She described the cell phone photos that her husband had as looking like “loads of meat”. In addition, there were photos of some of the  officers showing the pictures to people in a restaurant, according to 20 Minutos.
